BALI 4.4 - THAILAND - DYC 164
Sailing approximately 28nm southeasts of Phuket brings you to the Phi Phi Islands, one of southern Thailand’s favourite tourist destinations. You’ll find stunning anchorages and charming villages that are perfect for lunchtime stops.
Many of the islands in the region are ringed with dazzling coral reefs, so rich in marine life that you’ll be tempted to spend all of your time in the water.
One of the most popular stops during any Phuket yacht charter is Koh Khai Nai, better known as James Bond Island, where “The Man With the Golden Gun” was filmed.
On a longer charter, visit the Similan Islands, located about 54nm northwest of Phuket. These nine granite islands are covered by dense tropical jungles.
Mu Koh Similan National Park offers some of the finest diving locations in the world, with dramatic underwater seascapes created by volcanic eruptions aeons ago.
To sail in Thailand you’ll need a sailing license recognized by the local port authorities. Or you can hire a skipper. Read our guide to sailing qualifications for more information.
